Underestimated!!!

Okay, I have truly, without the shadow of a doubt, underestimated what it takes to make a blog work! I thought that I would have so much to say; which I think I do, but just lack the motivation and structure on doing it. There are factors that deter me from expanding my blog to what I hope for it to be and they are:

1. Everyone else has cooler blogs (yeah, it's petty, but someone thinks about this the same way). I mean I won't get specific, but I've seen some well constructed blogs out there and it just downright intimidates me on working mine. That will change now.... Look how long it finally took me to create another post! I smell progress in the air!!

2. The concept of thinking that someone has already said what you were trying to say and said it better. That's a copout I'll admit because there are tons of blogs on one particular topic and they all happen to say the same thing with a little dash of different. Wow, I've demolished that one pretty quick.... Moving on!

3. No one cares!!! That bothered me because I want to express my feelings and all that good stuff, but I was hoping that someone would respond to it immediately. When the comment number was still at zero, it didn't crush me, but it did sway me a bit. It's immature to think that I should do my blog solely for comments; true I want your opinions and your feelings, but that should not dictate why I am doing it. My motivation for creating this blog was to document random events in my life and how they made me feel through expressing them using this medium. It's really silly for me to even think about comments and all of that, when I've really only made one post.

So, these are a few solid reasons as to why I have underestimated this process of pushing my blog further into blogdom (I don't think that's a word, but why should that matter with the countless number of new words that appear on the internet at break neck speed). I hope that this a start to changing my complacency and will become an open door to the realm of a better thought out blog. I ask that if you are to actually read what I have to say, that you forgive any grammatical errors that you may encounter and if you feel compelled to critique it, by all means, have at it. I welcome any input that will propel communication forward, because even though this is not a secret, these blogs that we create are a window to communicating with people that we may or may not know, understanding what makes who we are, but most importantly, not underestimate the beauty of it all.
